Regarding the Optional 1 Percent Sales Tax, it appears that there are those who have a
problem with it becoming permanent.

Maybe one day, the people will “vote” it to be permanent. Maybe they will “vote” to keep
it on a ballot time and time again. I just hope it is “voted” in.

I was always taught and find it to be true, that it is always better to give than to receive. I
have been blessed and have no problem with helping when and where I can. And it
amazes me that so little from all of us can help our community and those less fortunate
so much.

There is also another saying, “Too many cooks in the kitchen spoil the broth.” I can’t
imagine what would happen if everyone had to choose what the money from this tax
was used for. Nothing would probably get done!

So we must have faith in those elected to choose for the good of the community and
charity. In my opinion, they have done an excellent job, even while I don’t agree with
everything they have chosen to use it for. No one will ever be pleased with everything.
I think our community is all the better with it than without it.
